Maybe I’m a little too strict on this, but I believe there are certain things that kids need to wait until they are at least a year to eat either because their systems need to mature more, or it could cause allergies. Milk is one of them. I also think there are things in breastmilk & formula that aren’t in milk that it would be good for them to have until they’re at least a year. My kids’ grandparents think we’re insane… but oh well.
This is just my opinion though. You do what you feel is best for your baby.
Did you say milk at 9 months of age????I’ve been asking myself the same question about milk lately. Since when is it considered so urgent that we get our babies onto whole milk? Is it a “dairy conspiracy” or what? Did you happen to read my recent thread, “Myles’ one year check up?” My doc was horrified that I was still giving Myles formula. Personally I think it’s rediculous. I gave my two older children formula until they were at least 15 months old and then a combination of milk and formula until they were 18 months old, and that’s what I intend to do with Myles. Sheesh! It must be something in the air.
BTW…Marshall is a very cute name.

I rather like the idea of a Dairy Association conspiracy with the Pediatricians…I bet the pharmaceutical companies are involved somehow
