My guess is that his dose is not high enough. PPI meds at the right dose really do turn things around. I hope the appt. goes well and you can get an increase for him. Have you checked http://www.marci-kids.com to see if his dose is adeqate?

My first refluxer was never properly medicated and she suffered for 9 months. I wasn’t going to let that happen to my son, but I really had to fight to get him on the right dose of Prevacid.jonah kept outgrowing his losec dose so that he was on the highest amount for his weight- we had to keep getting it adjusted with every little weight gain- we also gave him rantadine to help- and then once he was on the maximum dose of losec for his weight (probably at around 3 months or 4 months) then we switched to prevacid (and still w/ rantadine) and then just prevacid and he was fine
