Just wondering what diapers everyone uses. Aiden seems to be sensitive to scent. His poor penis is so red(too much info). I am looking for a reliable diaper with no scent. Does anyone use especially for babies the babies r us brand? What do you think?
February 11, 2006 at 10:21 am #1335AnonymousInactiveWe cloth diaper, and cloth is great for rashes. It’s also surprisingly easy. Check these out: http://www.fuzzibunz.com/
February 11, 2006 at 10:56 am #1338AnonymousInactiveI use Huggies SUpreme. Everytime we used Pampers, Ashtyn would get red & itchy all over.
February 11, 2006 at 11:16 am #1341AnonymousInactiveHey, I use Huggies with my Aidan He’s a bit of a chub and they fit him better. I have found from past expierence with my first son that diapers are unfortunatly something you can usually not go store brand on, everytime I tried to with him he peed right through them, BUT that was 6 years ago, and I’m sure they have made a ton of inprovements by now!!!
February 11, 2006 at 11:17 am #1343AnonymousInactiveohh another thought ? maybe it’s the wipes you use??? My older son was really sensitive to wipes, even the sensitive skin ones broke him out, so I only used the plain origional ones with no add ons and no scent.
February 11, 2006 at 12:18 pm #1345AnonymousInactiveThe wipes were the issue for us as well. For a while we had to switch to washcloths and warm water. Now we use the plain unscented kind.
February 11, 2006 at 1:10 pm #1346AnonymousInactiveSame here with the wipes. As for diapers, we use Pampers Crusiers during the day and Huggies Overnites at night.
February 11, 2006 at 2:18 pm #1351AnonymousInactiveWe use Pampers Sensitive skin wipes (for newborns) and Huggies Supreme diapers seem to be the best. We used Pampers Cruisers for the longest time and then they changed the mesh lining inside of them which I think contributed to a lot of diaper rashes. We switched to Huggies (amoung other things) and the diaper rashes are better.
February 11, 2006 at 2:38 pm #1352AnonymousInactiveWe use newborn wipes with no scent already. Huggies, Pampers and Luvs the brands all have scent in their diapers. I don’t understand why they come with wipes unscented but not diapers.
February 11, 2006 at 2:53 pm #1353AnonymousInactiveWe cannot use huggies here b/c isaac is allergic. We use the meijer brand diapers and they are the best diaper I have ever used. They work great overnight and no rash! We use pampers unscented wipes.
February 11, 2006 at 3:17 pm #1354AnonymousInactiveI have only had luck with Pampers for both of my boys. Nate would
sometimes break out all over his bottom and penis and our ped told us
to either use warm water and wash clothes or to rinse out the wipes
before using them. Believe it or not, even the wipe that were
“unscented” still had a ton of soap in them. I was amazed at all
the suds when I went to rinse one out. Maybe that is the
problem. My niece had the same issue and the only diapers my
sister-in-law can use are the CVS store brand and she loves them.February 11, 2006 at 4:03 pm #1356hellbenntKeymasterFebruary 11, 2006 at 6:15 pm #1360AnonymousInactiveThe diapers we use are unscented – they are the BJs store brand. Do you have any BJs (or Costco, etc.) near you? We’ve used them forever – since Owen was teeny tiny – and the only problem with leaking that we had was overnight so we use Huggies overnights then. All other times we use the store brand and have never had a problem – and believe me, we’ve gone WAY too long without changing his diaper some days and he never leaked. They don’t have a scent at all – they actually smell kind of weird I thought, but I think that’s because I was used to all diapers smelling like baby powder.
February 11, 2006 at 6:29 pm #1361AnonymousInactiveSarah – what are Meijer brand diapers?
February 11, 2006 at 9:23 pm #1367AnonymousInactiveI’ve used the costco brand (ie. Kirkland’s), but I think that they might still be scented- they leaked with my older one, but not for Hailey. I think that it is the baby’s shape that really determines if they’ll leak or not.
My older daughter has had a chronic problem with diaper rash since starting in daycare, and we’ve found that the best way to clean her up was with a wet paper towel… you can make it a bit cool so that it soothes the area, and then wipe it clean without the stinging. Really wipes aren’t necessary, they’re just more convenient. Make sure to top things off with a good barrier cream after. We’ve used desitin and sudocream.
If it’s actually an irritation from something in the diaper, I would suggesting showing it to your pediatrician. They might be able to prescribe a cream to heal it better. Just wondering though, how do you know it’s from the scent of the diaper?
