Just a few quick suggestions. .. creamed spinach – my dd LOVES it. Just
frozen spinach cooked and then pureed with a little cream cheese if not
MSPI or it can be omitted for MSPI reasons. Butternut squash is another
good pureed veggie as well as homemade applesauce which can be made
with lots of texture or smooth. As far as proteins and starches theres
always rice (a huge favorite after one-yr for us), cous cous is a main stay
for us – can be served savory or sweetened, mashed potatoes (can be
made with/without milk), and small noodles of course are always good.
Whenever I cooked for my dd when she was really bad with MSPI I always
used chicken broth instead of milk for a lot of recipes – great way to add
some vitamins and flavor even for those of you without MSPI’ers. We love
veggie burgers, fish, and ham/pork at our house too. So those are
basically our proteins. It gets a lot easier as they get older to find new
and good recipes that don’t all have to be pureed or low in texture.
Really like Donna said most find that you make whatever you guys eat but
made to be more baby friendly.
