just wondering if this is an across the board red herring for reflux—do all babies with GERD scream in the car seats? we have to give big doses of mylanta before going anywhere to keep them calm and happy. just curious if this is reflux or our car seats. thanks!

Ellie screamed and screamed in her carseat for a long time but back then I had no idea why. Myles wasn’t as bad, but often threw up in his.
Is he in an infant only/rear facing seat? He still needs to ride rear facing and reclined, but the convertible seats might put less pressure on his tummy. I don’t think they are as srunched up in the bigger seats. I moved Myles to a convertible seat at six months (still rear facing and reclined) and he is much happier in it.
How’s he doing otherwise? 15mg is a pretty low dose of Prevacid. Do you think it’s enough for him?

Of course, with both of them, they have practically lived in the vehicle as we don’t tend to stay home a lot and both sets of in-laws live out of state. The Prevacid dose is pretty low – maybe that could have something to do with it – if only they came with instruction books!!

I don’t know if it made her uncomfortable, or if she was just a very anxious baby and sitting back there facing the back of the car freaked her out. I used to want to lose it driving her around with her screaming and puking like that, and then choking on the puke! NOT FUN!!!! Hope it passes soon.

Roundabout and she LOVES it). The infant seat definitely worsened her reflux
and caused her to cry – although that was helped when we put a folded up
washcloth under her tush and another behind her back (by the small of her
back) to help prop her up and stretch her out. But the Britax is great – she
relaxes and dozes in it all the time.
