Hang in there. Henry’s croup was horrible! Once the symptoms were under control, it went away pretty quickly. Hopefully that gives you hope. We had the oral steroids. It took two doses. 4 hours apart. It was tough to go through, but it works wonders. After that 2nd dose- about 20 minutes while I held him- I knew we were on a good road to recovery and everything would be fine.
I’ve always heard to take them to cool dry air to help them breathe better. Like the air of the refrigerator or freezer. If it gets really bad, keep that in mind. It opens their lungs up instantly.
