Hey there all. I am new here (though this is my 2nd crack at this, my 3 year old had the same issues). My DD is 7 weeks old today. She has SEVERE MSPI and reflux. She was sleeping in an elevated bassinett. Then she aspirated and choked so badly that we had to call 911. She then was in a bouncy seat. Then……I saw the baby Papasan and thought that this would be better becuase it doesnt have a “bend” in it like a regular bouncy or a car seat. WOW—much better. Thought I would let you know. She spits up a lot less in this. Wish they made one for the car. I feel like I cant go anywhere as she chokes in the car from so much reflux!!! Hope this helps someone.

February 8, 2006 at 1:19 pm #1134AnonymousInactiveWe saw this after Seth grew out of the bouncey seat but I did think how perfect it would have been for him in those early days! The one we saw even had a blanket and would have been great since we were told to let him sleep in the bouncey until the meds kicked in! I am glad it is working out for you and maybe will help some others too.

We wanted it SO badly – it was at the top of our gift registry as our #1 choice – but it was discontinued. We saw a few that were leftover at babies r us but they were all banged up so we didn’t get it. I bet it would have been great too!
February 8, 2006 at 4:06 pm #1165AnonymousInactiveWe had the Papasan for Brodie and we used it constantly from newborn through several months old. He slept in it frequently too. It is so snuggly and comfortable, I wanted to get in it too!!

February 25, 2006 at 9:24 pm #2496AnonymousInactiveSitting up and/or 25 pounds. It feels VERY sturdy. We Love it. My daughter has been sleeping in it for a couple of weeks! She even slept through the night the other night in it!!! 10:45pm-6:45am (at 8 weeks) I was soooo excited. My first child didnt do this till 12 months!
February 26, 2006 at 12:58 pm #2529AnonymousInactiveDamn, we’d work in the weight range but Sarah is already crawling and
sitting up on her own. 🙁 I’m grasping at any strings I can
get to keep her happy lately cause her reflux is way worse since she
grew out of the wedge/sling we had for her originally.<!–

February 26, 2006 at 3:44 pm #2542AnonymousInactiveI would use my best judgement. If you strap her in and keep her with you I would use it. It is VERY close to the ground. If you are going to place her in it to sleep then I would consider it—–as long as she is near you.
February 26, 2006 at 7:03 pm #2550AnonymousInactiveI think the sitting up part depends on the child. I have friends that were able to use their bouncy seats for months after their baby started sitting up. Kaelyn was really active and started trying to throw herself out of her bouncy seat almost immediately. A fairly calm baby should be okay.
