Gas…Oatmeal or Rice?

We had to switch to oatmeal b/c of constipation issues, it has more fiber than rice(well, 1 gram as opposed to none in the rice), maybe the fiber is causing the gas? I think there is another cereal that’s single grain as well, barley? I think that’s it but I don’t know much about it, whenever I’m feding Aidan a food that i know will cause gas, I found that the trick is to give them gas drops RIGHT after they eat as opposed to when they start getting gassy…hope this helps, gas pains are horrible for little ones!!!I hope he feels better!!!

ohh yeah we had levsin for Aidan…I didn’t really give it to him that much but it worked better than the mylicon (made him very sleepy though so I only gave it towards bedtime, of course that’s when the gas was the worst anyway so it worked out)

We did better with oatmeal than rice. Rice caused bad constipation which made her so gassy, and made the reflux so much worse. I think that when it comes down to it, each baby reacts differently though.
