From the Manufacturer:

The Pollywog Nursing Positioner - better for baby, more comfortable for mom. Puts baby in the natural nursing position - elevated for proper digestion. Adjusting baby on the pillow gets just the right nursing height for nearly any woman and it helps alleviate sore backs and wrists by supporting baby's weight. Flexible enough to use in multiple nursing positions and fits most glider rockers. A washable outer cover and water resistant inner cover eliminate the need to wash the entire pillow. Also perfect for bottle feeding.

My children were no longer breastfeeding when I received the Pollywog, so I had a friend try it out for me.  Her son was 3 months old when she tested the Pollywog.  It was immediately evident that the Pollywog put her son at the right height for breastfeeding.  And it freed up one of her arms to just holding/touching the baby rather than having to use both of her arms to support the baby.  The Pollywog put her son at an angle that looked much more natural than the horizontal position used by other positioners.

When I was trying to breastfeed, I used another positioning product.  The problem was that I still felt like I was crouching over to get the breast to my son.  Or I had to lift him up to the right height and my arm would go numb after a short time.  Or his head would fall backwards in my lap.  I could go on and on about the trouble I had.    It was just not an easy thing for me.  The positioning was the hardest part.  I think had I had the Pollywog that I probably would have had an easier time and would have kept it up longer.  I eventually switched to bottle-feeding.

Another advantage of the angle of the Pollywog is better digestion.  Both of my sons had reflux and feeding position was so critical in their case.  The Pollywog would be great for keeping baby in an upright position while feeding, thereby providing one more defense against reflux.

I was very impressed with the Pollywog and wish that it had been available when my sons were breastfeeding!
